tournament formula

Due to construction works on site we won't be able to use all fields at Tom's Tourney 2026. So we had to lower the total number of teams to 60 for the next edition.

We'll host 2 divisions with a total of 60 teams:

  • open division: 40 teams in 1 division, we won't have a seperate open division 1 and 2 anymore
  • women's division: 20 teams

Rules:

  • All games including all finals are 60 minutes long
  • Half-time of 1 minute after 30 minutes or at 8 points, whichever comes First. Half time cap+1 rule applies when half time is triggered by 30 minutes and score 8 has not been reached
  • 1 time-out of 1 minute per team per game
  • All games are cap+1
  • Hard cap = 15

Women's division: 20 teams

  • Round 1: 4 pools of 5 teams each; 4 games per team. The 4 winners of the pools move on to the quarter finals for places 1-8
  • Round 2: the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd play a prequarter. The winners of these 4 pre-quarters move on to the quarter finals for places 1-8. The losers of the pre-quarters move on to the quarter finals for places 9-16
  • Round 2: the teams finishing 4th and 5th play a prequarter. The winners of these 4 pre-quarters move on to the quarter finals for places 9-16. The losers of the pre-quarters move on to a pool of 4 to play for places 17-20
  • Round 3: quarters, semis & finals for places 1-8 and 9-16
  • Round 3 for places 17-20: 1 pool of 4 teams, 3 games per team

Open division: 40 teams

  • 16 teams start in Elite pools, divided in 4 pools of 4 teams (3 games)
  • 24 teams start in Contender pools, divided in 8 pools of 3 (2 games)
  • 1st and 2nd of all 4 Elite pools play the Elite Cross-over, determining their seeding for the pre-quarters. They are qualified already for the 1-16 bracket
  • 3rd and 4th of all 4 Elite pools play an Elite Qualifier cross-over against a winner of a contender pool for a place in the pre-quarters
  • 1st of all 8 contender pools play Qualifier Placing cross-overs among themselves. The winners will battle a 4th of the elite pools, losers will battle a 3rd for a spot in the Elite Cross-over
  • 2nd and 3rd of all contender pools play Contender cross-overs for a place in the 17-32 bracket
  • Winners of the Contender cross-over play a Contender Placing crossover. The winners of that cross-over play against the loser of the E4-C1 Elite Qualifier cross-over. The losers play against the loser of the E3-C1 Elite Qualifier cross-over, all for the 17-32 bracket
  • The losers of the contender cross-overs will be placed in 2 consolation pools of 4 teams
  • 1st and 2nd of each consolation pool cross over in semi’s for place 33-36
  • 3rd and 4th of each consolation pool cross over in semi’s for place 37-40

Teams cannot register for one subdivision Elite or Contender specifically, but can indicate their preferred starting subdivision.

All starting pools are at the discretion of the organizers, who will also take into account recent national results, 2026 EUCS enrolment and 2025 EUCS results
